He's currently a defense attorney in Power Book II: Ghost for 50 Cent, but he wants to take his acting career to new heights.
During an interview with Insider, he discussed his health and fitness path, as well as how it relates to his desire to become an action hero — particularly within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Maturity is when you look in the mirror and you get tired of your own BS,” Method Man said.
“And that was it for me, you know, I was just wanting to change. I wanted to do something for myself instead of for everybody else. I can only be responsible for my actions and hope it inspires the next generation to do the same.”
“It's a little intimidating,” Joe recalls of his first meeting with the Russo brothers. “The whole process wasn't necessarily about acting for me. It was for me, but I believe I'm prepared now. You know, I'm ready, man. Come on Marvel and the Russo brothers; I'm available.”
Although Method Man does not have a presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he appears in the Luke Cage series as himself. Mike Colter shows up as Luke Cage to save the day when two robbers hold out a gun at Method Man during a convenience store robbery.
After that, the two recognize each other, with Luke Cage lavishing praise on the Wu-Tang member for “P.L.O. Style” from 1994's Tical album.
During an interview with Sway Calloway and Heather B., Method Man appears again, recalling his meeting with Luke Cage. He raps a freestyle in the same episode, which is featured on Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest's soundtrack as "Bulletproof Love."
