This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Vision AVTR, Mercedes' sci-fi vehicle based on James Cameron's Avatar. In order for a car to be more connected to the driver, numerous basic controls have been replaced with an interactive joystick-like controller on the center console. Here's what it's like within the symbiotic concept.
The car comes to life when the driver places their hand on the central control pad inside the AVTR. The device is used by drivers to accelerate, brake, and turn the vehicle. In order for it to appear alive, the surface of the pad vibrates and pulsates like a beating heart.
A single large curved display module in the front of the cabin projects real-time footage of the road ahead. You may also pick whether it illuminates with 3D Avatar characters or Pandora's mythical world from the 2009 film "Avatar."
Take your hand off the center pad to access the car's various functions, and a menu of buttons is shown on your palm that you may cycle through with gestures.

The vehicle's body is comparable to that of other Mercedes concept cars, with a large windshield and entirely transparent doors, however it has a larger windshield and entirely transparent doors. This is the automobile you'll want to dress to the nines in.
The 33 bionic flaps on the back of the vehicle are its most distinctive feature. These flaps shift and change colors to indicate when the car is accelerating, braking, or turning.
The interior is just as radical as the exterior, with sleek white leather bucket seats and a host of screens that provide information to the driver.
This car is sure to turn heads, not just for its looks, but also for its innovative design. With no steering wheel and an all-glass cabin, the future of motoring is looking very different indeed.
Despite its show-car status, the AVTR is a capable road machine. The all-electric concept has four motors — one at each wheel — that combine to generate 469 horsepower. Its battery is able to travel up to 435 miles in total.
The spherical wheels and two independently moving axles of the Fisker Karma allow it to crab-walk sideways at a 30-degree angle, both a fun party trick and potentially useful for certain driving situations that demand squeezing through tight spots.
The battery cell of the AVTR takes eco-friendliness to a new level. This design's battery is made from graphene, making it recyclable through composting and toxic metals like lithium and cobalt are not used. The battery has a high-energy density, allowing you to charge it entirely in 15 minutes.

It's environmentally beneficial and practical for drivers, but before this technology is used to modern vehicles, it necessitates a significant amount of study. While we don't anticipate anything comparable to this vehicle in the near future or perhaps ever, some influencers got the opportunity to test-drive the concept for the first time earlier this year.
The new Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion concept car was first revealed at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. Designed to showcase the company's vision for the future of mobility, it's a self-driving, electric car that can seat up to four people. And, as you might have noticed, it doesn't have a steering wheel.
This may come as a surprise to some, but Mercedes isn't the only company working on steering-wheel-less cars. BMW, Audi, and Volvo are all researching and developing similar technologies. The thinking behind it is that, as autonomous cars become more prevalent, there will be no need for a human driver. And without a human driver, there's no need for a steering wheel.
So far, Mercedes' concept car has only been shown in static displays. But the company says that it will be taking the car on a "world tour" in the near future, giving people a chance to see it in action. And while it's still just a concept, it's not hard to imagine a future where cars like this are the norm.
