Heiress explains how the 'creepy' guards have forced her to cease taking showers, rats live in her cell, and why she has no prospect of a fair trial.
In a jailhouse interview, Ghislaine Maxwell claims she has been prevented from taking baths due to the 'creepy guards' who stand and watch her.
In a Mail exclusive, the heiress has described the agony of her existence as a Brooklyn jail inmate, claiming that conditions are so bad a rat would sit beside an open sewer as she relieved herself in her cell.
She said: 'I used to go to the loo with an open sewer drain and a friendly rat would regularly visit.
'I told the guards, but nothing was done until the rat popped out and charged a guard who screamed in terror.
'Finally, the sewer drain was hidden.
If convicted of exploiting and procuring young girls for her ex-boyfriend, pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell faces a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison.
With the hearing coming quickly, she has pleaded not guilty to all counts and promises to vigorously deny her guilt in court.
Maxwell, who was denied bail for a fourth time this week, worries that she will not receive a fair trial.
Since her arrest 16 months ago, she has been detained in the notorious New York jail.
'I've been in solitary confinement for the entire time,' she complained. 'Every day, I used to take a shower, but because of the scary guards who stand close and stare at me throughout, I haven't done so in a while.'
Maxwell's connection with Prince Andrew will be highlighted once again in the wake of jury selection commencing on Monday and the six-week trial beginning on November 29.
Virginia Roberts, the woman who claims she was "sex trafficked" to the Prince three times, including once when she was just 17 and legally under age, is expected to face Maxwell in court.
Prince Andrew, the defendant, through his attorney, vehemently denies all allegations and claims that he has never met Ms. Roberts.
'Maxwell is a monster,' says Roberts. 'She's vicious, pure evil,' she added, referring to Epstein as a sick paedophile and Ghislaine as the mastermind.'
The Mail on Sunday's scoop also includes the first interview with the former Paratrooper who was Maxwell's bodyguard for 11 months, starting in August 2019 and ending in July 2020.
He tells interviewer Daphne Barak about the incredible measures they went to conceal her presence, including paying for lookalikes to mislead the press.
