These models propose that the universe undergoes endless cycles of expansion and contraction.
In cyclic universe theories, the cosmos alternates between periods of growth and collapse, creating new universes at different times. These models still involve multiple universes, but instead of existing simultaneously, they exist sequentially, with each cycle potentially giving rise to a new universe.
The Road Ahead
The quest to prove the existence of the multiverse is one of the most exciting and challenging frontiers in modern cosmology. Advances in observational technology, such as more powerful telescopes and detectors, may provide the data needed to test these theories. For instance, scientists are looking for subtle imprints in the cosmic microwave background radiation that could indicate the presence of other universes or evidence of previous cycles of expansion and contraction.
