When you thought Florida's housing market couldn't get any worse. A 12-foot alligator was dragged out of a newly constructed home in Babcock Ranch, Florida, and he wasn't happy.
According to the Miami Herald, a construction worker, Matthew Goodwin was putting the finishing touches on a new Fort Myers-area home this month when he found a 12-foot alligator in the master bedroom.
The reptile was discovered when a window blind installer noticed it. Professionals were promptly called to remove the reptile.
The alligator made its way into the house via a laundry room door, according to Goodwin. The alligator had previously entered every room in the home and caused $2,500 worth of damage before it was discovered by a window blinds installer while working in another part of the house.
Goodwin captured footage of the spirited gator being lassoed and removed from the house by a local wrangler.
Two individuals straining to pull an alligator out of the home with a rope might be seen in a video recorded at the Babcock Ranch house, where houses sell for more than $1.5 million each.
The agitated reptile rolls over numerous times during the battle before being removed.
The alligator was likely seeking for some inside warmth during a stretch of cold weather, according to Goodwin. The reptile made a point of going over every inch of the home before choosing the master bedroom.
“He went into every room and left his mark,” Goodwin added.
