Why You Should Drink Water After Waking Up

By: April Carson

Staying hydrated is essential to being healthy. Everyone should drink enough water daily to stay properly hydrated. Not drinking enough water can lead to a variety of problems, such as: headaches, indigestion, high blood pressure, kidney stones, breast and uterine cancers, sinusitis; it can also cause pulmonary tuberculosis and obesity.

Drinking water is important, regardless if you are hungry or not. Water is the best drink to satisfy your thirst and get rid of several diseases.

The main functions of water in the body are to lubricate joints, maintain skin moisture and keep organs functioning properly. Most foods have some water content. For example, fruits and vegetables consist mostly of water (75% and 90%, respectively).

The most important time to drink water is when you wake up after a restful night of sleep. When you are sleeping, your metabolism slows down and the digestive system goes into rest mode. If you eat food or even take supplements in this state, it will be difficult for your body to break them down properly.

Drinking water after you wake up is essential to jump-start the proper water level in your body. It's a common misconception that drinking too much water will lead to health problems. Actually, it's not how much you drink, but when you drink it. The right amount of water at the right times is as necessary for life as food and air. Japanese people usually drink water immediately after waking up, which is why they are regarded to be among the slimmest cultures.

It's best to drink six to eight glasses of water per day, but you must drink two to three glasses of water just after waking up, or you will harm your body. One reason it's better to drink six to eight glasses of water per day is that it flushes out the toxins and food wastes from your system. If you don't drink water right after waking up, your immune system will have to deal with more toxins in the day. When these toxins aren't eliminated, they can cause allergic reactions and skin problems.

More than 95 percent of a human body consists of water, which is why every organ and system in your body depends on getting enough fluids to stay healthy. If the body becomes deprived of water for three days or more, it can become life-threatening and lead to irreversible brain damage.

Water also helps you lose weight by suppressing the appetite naturally. It maintains the body's metabolic rate, functioning of muscles and organs, and stimulates digestion. When you drink more water, it will be able to cleanse your body faster.

Water is a natural restorative of all the cells and tissues in our bodies because it helps to transport nutrients into cells and carry waste products out of our systems. It also helps maintain proper muscle tone and volume, which helps reduce chronic aches and pains.

It is no wonder that water plays a vital role in our well-being and health. However, many of us are not drinking enough! Many people do not know why they should drink water after waking up. That is the reason why I wrote this article: to give you an answer on how exactly drinking water can improve your life.

We are very busy and often overlook the importance of taking care of ourselves. One key element that is important for our health is – of course - water.
