After a terrible Magic Kingdom experience, a Disney World guest has "never seen anything like it."

By: April Carson

Despite the debut of the controversial Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections service, which was greeted with outrage in some quarters, traffic and lines at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida show no signs of slowing down. In fact, according to some guests, the experience has only gotten worse.

"I have never seen anything like it," said one guest who wished to remain anonymous. "The lines are ridiculous and the heat is unbearable. I waited in line for an hour just to get on It's a Small World."

Another guest said that she had given up on trying to get on any of the rides and had instead spent her day walking around in the air-conditioned shops.

While the Disney Parks Near Central Florida are not completely full (and will probably never be so), guests and queues are bigger and longer than ever before.

And, in terms of entertainment, things haven't changed. The Cinderella Castle at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park draws huge crowds along Main Street, U.S.A., with visitors flocking to see the fireworks light up the Orlando sky while they wait for their chance to enter into Queen Elsa and King Agnarr's castle and meet Anna and Kristoff. While it is supposed to be a highlight of Disney magic, crowds inevitably bring drama, and one visitor's viewing of the night spectacular was "chaotic."

Walt Disney World is currently thriving during The World's Most Magical Celebration, with the Walt Disney Company's CEO Bob Chapek recently announcing staggering park income. With tourism in Florida now exceeding pre-pandemic levels, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek announced stunning park earnings that are beyond expectations of other visitors.

Guests eager to revisit the magic of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom have surpassed expectations while canceling their trips due to the high demand.

An individual, who goes by the name Tommy on Twitter, detailed their visit to the park on Tuesday night where they were "shocked" by the lack of social distancing and mask-wearing.

The ticket reservation and Disney Park Pass system that was implemented following the pandemic and appears to be in place until at least 2024 might be attributed to the strain of crowds and long queues at Walt Disney World Resort, as well as Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Southern California.

Guests wanting to visit the Disney Resort must make a reservation via the Disney Park Pass system in addition to having a valid Park ticket; then, with a valid Park ticket, they can use the park hopper option to go to another park later that day. The pass system is said to keep guest expectations under control while also maintaining crowd levels low.

Walt Disney World Resort has long been busy, but some are now arguing that there is no longer a slow season. Instead of visiting EPCOT's World Showcase and witnessing Harmonious take over the World Showcase Lagoon, guests may choose to visit EPCOT's World Showcase instead. Or, for an entirely different experience, go to Disney Springs instead of the Parks.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time a Disney Resort Guest has been concerned about crowds or the fear of being trampled. Recently, allegations of line-cutting, pushing past other Guests, and even one altercation with a stroller at the Magic Kingdom ferryboat that resulted in a police presence have been reported.

While this Guest complained about the Disney Enchantment experience, they praised the Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane system, contrasting other Guests' assessments. For an extra fee, visitors can board their favorite attractions such as Spaceship Earth, Haunted Mansion, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Space Mountain.

The Disney Genie+ is a new system that allows Guests to make digital reservations for their favorite rides and experiences 60 days in advance. Lightning Lane is another option for those who want to avoid long lines at the park.

Guests can purchase a FastPass that allows them to bypass the regular line and go straight to the front.

A Disney Park Pass is required for all four theme parks — Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom — but not the two water parks at this time: Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park (which are currently closed for refurbishment).
